Government Support for businesses affected by floods

If you are amongst those who have been severely affected by the recent flooding the Queensland Government has announced a range of grants and loans available to individuals, business, and communities (located in specified areas) who have been affected by the recent flooding.

Some of the grants / loans available are listed below.

Recovery grants – Up to $50,000 paid as $15,000 upfront and the balance upon presentation of proof of payment for clean-up activities, repairs including damage to equipment, flooring, and walls and to replace lost stock.

Disaster Assistance Loans – Up to $250,000 for up to 10 years at a concessional rate for repair / replacement of damaged plant, equipment or buildings, replacement of stock or meet costs such as rent and rates.

Disaster Assistance Loans (Essential Working Capital) – Up to $100,000 for up to 10 years at a concessional rate for payment to staff, creditors, rent, rates, and purchases that are essential to your business.

There are additional grants available for sporting and community associations and primary producers.
